Got this "olde" Brooks Professional saddle to see if everything I've ever heard about them is true: Are they really the ultimate in comfort? Once the initial hellish break-in period has been survived?

Not sure how old it is, or if it's very old. Seems a bit different than the current versions. The faded BROOKS plate on the back of the saddle is smaller. And there's a black stripe along the rear edge.




Copper rivets and steel or chromed rails.



Underneath on the right side there is an odd tattoo-like mark which I can't read.



See how it looks on my Fuji Track bike. Looks out-of-place to me. Might need a "new" classic bike to go with it.
